Location
La Capraia is incredibly well situated, just 15 minutes from the historic center of the medieval walled city of Lucca, yet completely immersed in the green of nature. Use La Capraia as your home base for touring Tuscany and all it has to offer. The Renaissance city of Florence is an hour's drive away while the medieval city of Siena is a two hour drive away. The historic hillside town of Barga is under a 30 minute drive from La Capraia.

Directions
- from Lucca follow the directions for "ABETONE", it's very well signaled, both from the highway and from Lucca proper.
- about 10km from Lucca, following the signs for "ABETONE", you will go through a series of tunnels, 4 of them in total,
- 1 km after the last tunnel, as the road bears right, it divides in 2, take the right ramp, SP2 towards "BORGO A MOZZANO",
- after 2 kms you will get to a runabout, exit left towards "VALDOTTAVO"
- the village is about 1 km from the intersection, there are 2 speed bumps before you get there, plus one in the center,
- drive accross the village, the road is narrow, use caution,
- after you exit the village (there is a sign on the left), follow the road for 700 m,
- you will see a small brick tower to the left of the road, 100 m after the tower, as the main road takes a sharp turn right, you will see a tiny road going left, to the side of a stone building. Take this road, honk,
- after 200 m and a few more honks on that road, you will get to the house, on the left.

We are less than 800 meters to the historic village of Partigliano and just a 1,5 km walk to the town of Valdottavo with its small theatre, pizza place, 3 green grocers, bar/café, ATM Cash Machine, hair dressers, news stand, 2 butcher shops, church and bakery.
2 supermarkets are within 10mn drive of the house, one towards Lucca (Esselunga) and one towards the North (Penny Market). They are both open on Sundays during the summer.

Pisa airport, with numerous flights per day from major UK airports, is the closest airport to La Capraia. It is about a 45 minute drive to reach La Capraia from Pisa airport. Florence airport is about an hour's drive away. Rome Fiumincino is a 4 hour drive from La Capraia.
